Race to the Stones 2025

Race to the Stones is a fully supported 100km route following in the footsteps of Romans, Vikings, farmers and traders along the iconic Ridgeway.
The event passes Iron Age forts, ancient burial chambers, the Thames and the mystical down-lands of Salisbury plain before finishing at the historic stone circle at Avebury. Participants are able to complete the route from Lewknor to Avebury in 1 day or complete the route in 2 sections staying overnight at the basecamp location at Lattin Down Kiln. The event is a public participation ultra-marathon for approximately 2,500 people, many of whom are raising money for a collection of charities. Organisers: The event is delivered by Threshold Sports, who are a reputable organisation with a wealth of experience in organising events. Threshold are the company behind other well-known events such as the high-profile Sport Relief Challenges (Zoe Ball – Hard Road Home, David Walliams Thames Swim and others), Ride Across Britain (the largest cycling event of its kind in the UK) and international events including the Virgin Strive Challenge. Trail: most of the route follows the Ridgeway, however in some sections it veers off onto other public footpaths or roads Signage: The route team be erecting small red/ white arrows and warning signs along the route from Thursday 10th July, for the participants to navigate. These will be removed by the back-marker route team as soon as the last walker is through – therefore all signage will be removed by the evening of Sunday 13th July.
