Healthcare Open Day

From the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust:

We are pleased to invite you and your community to join us at our Joint Biomedical Research Centre Open Day event, taking place at Leiden Square, Westgate Centre, Oxford 10am to 3.30pm on Thursday 30 May 2024.

The Open Day is an excellent opportunity for your community to learn more about a broad range of fascinating healthcare research taking place in Oxford, how it translates into tangible clinical benefits for NHS patients, as well as the variety of careers options available in medical research.

The event takes place during May half term offering an opportunity for young people, their parents and staff a chance to visit over 40 interactive stands to learn about the latest research into a broad range of healthcare themes including the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease, the importance of sleep, mental health issues, endometriosis, dementia and many other conditions.

The members of your community will have the opportunity to engage with clinical researchers from Oxford’s two BRCs, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford, as well as find out more about ways to get involved in our research.

This is a public event, no registration to attend is required and we look forward to welcoming your community members to what will be a fun, informative and hopefully sunny day at the Westgate centre.

The Open Day is jointly organised by the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre and NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. We bring together the research expertise of the University of Oxford and the clinical skills of staff at Oxford’s two NHS Foundation Trusts, with the aim of supporting research and innovation to improve physical and mental healthcare.

Information from last year’s event to give you an idea of what to expect on the day can be found on the Oxford BRC website.
