COWLEAZE WOODS
As many of you may already have seen, Forestry England are undertaking a major thinning project in the woods. They say this is usually carried out every 5 or 10 years and is necessary for the wood to prosper. This means the car park is closed and parts of the wood are sectioned off for safety.
Forestry England say they hope the work will be completed by mid-April but this is dependant on the weather which has not been good - and has meant that the tracks made by the machinery needed for felling the trees are bigger than had been hoped.
However, Forestry England have given an assurance that all the paths will be reinstated once the work has been completed.
